Reframing education


Our mission was to reframe the way Auckland Institute of Technology Unitec communicated with its students, staff and the wider community.
The concept was to create an overarching organisational philosophy to inform a design system that could be used over the existing institution to 'reframe' the way it operated.
Reframing learning means being bold enough to do things differently if it makes it better. Creating the 'Unitec weave' was central to this and working with Unitec Marae staff allowed us to create a triptych of patterns representing the intersecting ideals of 'relook, rethink and redesign'.
The identity can be applied across a variety of applications and becomes a 'living, breathing' aspect of the institution.
